If I may say so, please refrain from using improper language like this on our hopefully civilized mailing list. And if I may add, I do not think calling such negative attention to yourself helps much. > i have a linux server/gateway at work...and my question is, is it > possible to scan emails that enter my network for viruses?? if so, > how? and can you guys give me links on where i can get software and > tutorials for this? Yes, it is possible, and it's been done. There are a lot of mail scanning utilities -- like AMaViS or MailScanner, to name a few -- that interface with file-sweeping type anti-virus programs like McAfee uvscan, Sophos sweep, or the like. Alternatively you can get anti-virus programs that run as daemons and interface with the MTA directly. This is obviously a more optimal solution for high-traffic mail gateways, but comes with a higher price tag. These are not too obscure to find. Please use Freshmeat[1] or our archives[2] to find out more. Feel free to get hints and use the keywords in the previous paragraph to help you with your query.
