What, you've never had to track down all the build dependencies of a
tarball?

Never had to figure out precisely what packages and configure settings
you needed in order to get something to work the way you wanted it to?

I like my apt-get, and I'm sure people like emerge. I like being able
to quickly install anything I want and yet be able to build the stuff
I'm curious about. =)

Then again, there are people who'll swear by .tar.gz... <shrug>
