I plan to deploy an app on a low end machine so I don't want to use X. Also, I have a feeling a text-based UI makes for more rapid data entry because it involves less or no mousing around. For Linux apps where a GUI is appropriate - like an MIS app (as opposed to data entry) - Kylix Qt-based CLX components' functionality is rich and mature enough (although still far less so than the Win32-based VCL ones) that it makes for the tough choice of forgoing Python for Pascal. It would be great if you could have your cake and eat it too: Python language power and flexibility plus the stellar benefits of CLX (or even better, VCL) RAD components. _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
