Hello all,

I don't know if the subject is right but what I need is your suggestion
regarding on how I can include a "confirmation link" in a text format e-mail
message. This is the scenario:

We will be sending a notification e-mail message to taxpayers. When a
taxpayer receives and read the message, he/she must make a reply to us (BIR)
that he/she receives our e-mail notification. In short, we need the
taxpayer's confirmation message.

Now, the problem goes like this. By default, usually a person who receives
an e-mail message will just click the REPLY button of his/her favorite MUA
(and this is actually the case if we are subscribing a mailing list like
this) to confirm or to make a reply to the previous e-mail message. But in
our case, it will be too messy if we will just be accepting an e-mail
message wherein the subject starts something like "RE:". Our operators will
still need to open the e-mail message and read whatever the contents of that
message. If we are just expecting the taxpayers' confirmation that they
were able to receives and read our e-mail notification, perhaps there should
have a more decent way to do this and this is what I want to ask from you.

In our template e-mail message, we want to include:

For text format - a link that says something like "I received and read the
BIR's e-mail notification".
For HTML format - an "OK" button to confirm the message like "I received and
read the BIR's e-mail notification".

...that when a taxpayer clicks the "link" (if it's a text format message) or
the "button" (if it's HTML format), it automatically sends an e-mail to us
with a different contents and subject already. Probably, the subject will
be changed something like "Confirmation blah blah blah" and the body of the
message will be changed already. This message/template is not visible from
the taxpayers' MUA, it will just automatically sends it to us when he/she
clicks the link or the button.

Is it possible? How can we include such feature in our e-mail notifications
to the taxpayers so that they will not just click the REPLY button but
instead, they will just click the "link" or the "button" that will be
included in our template and sends their confirmations to us automatically.

BTW, we will be using Postfix on Mandrake Linux 9.0 or at least Red Hat
Linux 8.0.

Thanks in advance.
