I am not a former Slackware user, but I too like using the new RH 8. My
former desktop was littered with files because I didn't want to use
Nautilus to open a folder. It was so arduously slow! But now, it's a
breeze to open folders. :)

It does get some getting used to, though, even for a long time RH user.
I still have to find out how to add programs to the menu, among other
things. RH 8 is definitely geared for the normal home user. It takes a
while for a tweaker on RH 7.* to tweak 8.* :)

But needless to say, RH 8 is sweeeet! Wonderful interface, nice
performance, fantastic icons, nice usability.
