Last Friday, http://freshmeat.net just announced a Clipper compiler
for Linux and other platforms.  Is your friend so lucky -- he does not
have to rewrite any of his applications.  He just has to move them
to Linux, and if you enable large-file support his size-limitation
problem goes away!  The program is clip-0.90* (I forgot the exact
version number).
