Does creating an iso file from the cdrom produce an iso with the same
md5sum as the one used to create it? I heard that the command 'cat
/dev/cdrom | md5sum' on an installation cd gets the correct md5sum but I
have not tried it yet. Would 'cat /dev/cdrom > somefilename.iso' suffice
or are there some files to be tinkered with to create a bootable
installation cd?

ciao!

Subject: [plug] Redhat Media Check and MD5SUM

What does Redhat use as basis for giving a Redhat CD a PASS mark during
a media check? Md5sums of the rpm files? The reason I asked is that I
have in my possession a Redhat CD which passed the media check but when
I made it into an iso file (using dd) the md5sum does not check out.
