1) What are the practical difference between 
"$@" and "$*"? Hopefully an example can be given.

2) How do you prevent echoing of an executed
bash command within a script. I'm looking
for something analogous to:

@d:\foo\bar.exe

in a DOS batch file where the command
d:\foo\bar.exe is not echoed to the
screen.
