Thanks for this tip.  I forgot that the sync program assigns IP addresses
to both USB and serial.  Thanks for the reminder.  But again, unless
your desktop is connected to the Net, and unless it gateways, no one
get get into your system but you and the guy on the PC, which is
also you.  So why worry?

After my initial purchase of the Z, I am left with zero money for
hardware.  Fortunately, my daughter seems to be hinting to me that
she is getting a 64-128MB SD card for me through a friend in HK,
so they should be able to get it cheaper there.

Also I saw a nice gift idea for our techie wives -- a thumb disk.
I believe this is an SD card with USB connector, and nicely
goes as a pendant on a key chain or a necklace.  It is actually
32MB-2G card which is seen as a vfat filesystem by the WinPC or
Linux.  Nice gift if your wife can see its portability value.
It might be dangerous to give her a gold necklace with it, since
she might get electrocuted when she inserts the card into the
USB slot.  Can this happen?
