hi, any of you guys having trouble with this driver?
i got an AIC-7899 controller on 2.2 kernels it works without a hitch, when i upgraded the server form redhat 7.1 to debian 3.0 on a 2.4.18 kernel it would stall on the SCSI HD detection (the controller is detected) and it would probe all the buses and still wouldnt find the HD. so i tried the installation using a 2.2 kernel and it worked... after having a working system i tried to recompile a 2.4.20 kernel using both the old and the new aic7xxx driver and the same thing happens at boot up could this be a bug? or should i be passing some argument to the kernel? if i used the same scsi driver (old_aic7xxx) on both 2.2 and 2.4.20 and it works on 2.2 without any fuss then shouldnt that be the same behavior on 2.4.20? thanks in advance for your help. :) Mark M.
