Dear Users,

The European Information Technology Service Center (EITSC) started
operations in August 2002. It is an initiative of the German Development
Cooperation (GTZ) and the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines
(ECCP) in cooperation with the Asia Europe Foundation of the Philippines.
Having recognized the competitiveness of Philippine firms supplying IT and
IT-enable services, the growing demand in Europe, and the IT program of the
Philippine government, the EITSC was formed to assist in plotting the
country as a destination of choice for IT services and business processes.

The EITSC promotes local IT capability and acts as the bridge between
European companies outsourcing business processes and Philippine firms
offering IT and IT-enabled services. The EITSC initiates and supports
contract negotiations with European clients, provide project management as
well as facilitate the success of Philippine-European IT partnerships.
Also, it supports knowledge and skills building through IT training and
provides a market-entry platform for European Small and Medium Enterprises
(SMEs) into the Philippines.

Given the growing popularity of Open Source, the EITSC is intending to
conduct an Open Source Seminar early next year. For this, I would like to
get your inputs on local resource speakers that we can tap. Thanks.

Hoping to hear from you, we remain,

With kind regards,

Dominic SABADO
