Stop agreeing with me, darn it!" ;) > People who don't read guidelines will not be affected by private email. > One thing though, since this is an open list, why not put a requirement They probably won't be affected by mailing list flames, either, and I personally would rather filter out the netiquette-related stuff. I usually score those threads down anyway. > to put in your real name... What? No Horatio Bogbindero? Real names are overrated. ;) >> Naturally, I will take this to an even greater extent and suggest the >> use of scoring (especially Gnus' adaptive scoring! =) ), since some > You mean....put them in the list manually after careful thought...B-) Among other things. For example, I tend to score based on subject rather than person, since I find that most of the time I want to ignore whole threads of discussions. People with positive karma raise the score of the thread, so I still read posts by people I find interesting. =) The Gnus info node has some tips on even funkier scoring - you can do a combination of author and body scoring, for example. I'm quite tempted to score on the body for certain words like "emacs"... ;) This is how I manage to wade through around 75 mailing lists - 800 or so messages every day... =) -- Sacha Chua <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> - 4 BS CS Ateneo geekette interests: emacs, linux, wearables, teaching compsci _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
