i agree with rick.  POP3 over SSL, and SMTP over SSL are certainly
the way to go.  i don't have a choice though :).  so i have an ugly
hack in place for now.  when time permits, i'll go POP3 and SMTP
over SSL, definitely.

or maybe i won't, since they work well enough and i'd rather not
mess with anything that already works.  we'll see :).  it'll definitely
be interesting to get POP3/S working though.
