2. I shall always strive to read the howto's and manual pages. man <command> and info <command> can sometimes work wonders and save bandwidth. 3. I shall always refrain from asking questions indiscriminately. I shall always remember to visit -- http://marc.free.net.ph -- first before asking. 4. I shall always recognize that Google is the best guide to finding information. I shall continually strive to learn how to separate true information from crap. -- Oldbies -- 5. I shall always strive not to engage in flamefest, name-calling, or ad hominem attacks against anyone in any mailing list. I shall always look openly at the opinions of others and humbly accept my mistakes when they are brought to my attention. I shall always assist gnubies with a guiding and respectful hand. 6. I shall always trim quoted messages to the point of brevity. I shall always remember that conserving disk space on the mailing list server archives will also conserve power and backup-times, thus ultimately contribute to a greener environment in the long run. 7. I shall continuously strive to keep my workstations and *nix-like servers free from deadly viruses, knowing that my *nix-like servers also caters to workstations installed with a hugely successful but inferior operating system. I shall use my *nix-like servers to help protect the workstations with inferior operating system in the best way I can. 8. I shall always strive to keep my workstations and *nix-like servers clean from spam messages, p0rn, pirated software, and other data junk. 9. I am morally responsible to practice secure and safe computing. I shall always help point out and plug security holes. I shall keep confidential information that was entrusted to my server as though I am guarding my very own life. 10. I shall always endeavor to use my *nix-like servers as conduits of information instead of crap, solidarity instead of terrorism, love instead of hate.
