How are default file permissions created? Which application is responsible for it? I already know about setgid or setuid using chmod to implement default ownerships to a directory. I know little about umask but know that I can use it to set default file permissions when mounting filesystems. Any good site discussing this matter in detail? 'info umask' returns information on bash but does not discuss umask in detail.
