thanks.  it doesn't seem that acpi is ready for production use.  and my
current notebook doesn't have acpi support yet.  so i couldn't
use it anyway.

hmmm, maybe i'll look into that apm proxy stuff instead, or
trace what apm does when it wakes up.  

oh, on a separate apm issue.  hehe, apm -S does not solve all my
problems completely with click and drag.  it's very weird, but 
sometimes, even though i don't naman do an apm -s, click and 
drag will suddenly stop working.  in that case, i just do another 
apm -S and wakeup. and it starts working again.  but that's worse 
than a kludge.  damn, probably going to actually have to learn 
things to find a fix for this :).
