Happy gnu year!
I want to make a link that will not be case sensitive.
For example:
http://www.my_domain.com/NEWYEAR
will be the same webpage as,
http://www.my_domain.com/newyear
I'm using apache...
Thanks in advance for the ideas!
mod_rewrite is your friend :) http://httpd.apache.org/docs/misc/rewriteguide.html you may have to recompile apache if this isn't active, or a shared object was not created during your original compile
mod_rewrite sounds interesting.
but you can start right away, Jun by simply using
<IfModule mod_alias.c>
#Alias fakename realname
Alias /NEWYEAR /newyear
..
</IfModule>
on apache's httpd.conf file. assuming you have plenty of time to
do it for, maybe a thousand links =)
ok,ok. back to mod_write.
