That's what i actually did. If you have common sense to analyze it.
Maybe i should post it again.

If you say you can do it while root (single character
password), then the (problem?) lies with the user setting (on changing
password) or the Linux-PAM itself.
<snip>
I did help him analyze were to look for the solution, am i?
And here's the next post:
<snip>
If you really need this kind of setup, ONE ALTERNATIVE (might work) is
by using LDAP to authenticate your users (with user ACL's for changing
their own passwords) instead of (designed for security) Linux-PAM
<snip>
I didn't say that IT IS the only way, i said ONE ALTERNATIVE. I only
gave it ONLY for his reference not as an AUTHORITATIVE solution.
People here in the lists who answers questions aren't all experts in
Linux (unlike you). Some have just experienced it themselves and just
wanted to share what they've learned. Since this is a FREE lists, i
think it's up to the one posting the question, whether to accept the
help or not. If there's some discrepancies, then EXPERTS can point out
what it is. And everyone benefits from it. I am not an EXPERT...and i
always told that to myself.
What happened to FREE SPEECH? ;)
