Thanks Mark, but the "ln" only applicable for few users. I have hundreds
of end users. I am using NIS/NFS server to authenticate the login name and
password (via NIS) and mount the users home directory using the server
into the local machine (via NFS). Actually I need to use my existing NIS
setup just for login/password authetication from local machine to my NIS
server and then instead of using the mounted home directory of each user
(from NFS server), I would like now to use any of the directory from the
local machine.Such that after the users logon from the local machine, each
home directory of the user will now be using the home directory of the
local machine and not the mounted home directory from the NFS server.

Below are my example mounted filesystem in each workstation( local
machine)

Filesystem Mounted on
/dev/hda1 /
<IP addr of NFS server>:/home /home

If I disable the NFS filesystem, all users won't be able to login since
the users has no home directory in the local machine especially using
Xwindows(KDE/GNOME).Unless I will create a home directory for each users
in all workstations, which is not possible.

Thanks a lot!
