I'm using Enterasys AP2000/Enterasys PC card in our WLAN and all
wireless client are running on linux platform. To get the maximum
coverage you must use wireless accesspoint, but still to consider the
interference in your environment like microwaves, elevator etc. you
can use a lot of features if you have the accesspoint you can filter
users via protocols or ip's etc. unlike adhoc or peer-to-peer you will
only get the benefit of connectivity. For budget concern try 3com
wireless product or if you want I can do a week demo of Enterasys
Wireless products for you.
