no hostility meant, it just stirred some emotion in me that i could
evidently not hide. :)

as a matter of fact, it is good news for me. i am delighted that Dr.
Nemenzo has taken note of linux and the merits of using it.

yes, i mereley said that it is a rash generalization. if i may put it, a
cliche that just so happens to be visibly in effect. i know of the times
that when UP went somewhere, most of the country followed suit (EDSA,
EDSA II). i wasn't angry when i said that it failed to humour me.

not mad, was just stirred up some part of me that i had to react. no
anger was meant to be conveyed.

ok, there will be resistance to change in most parts of any organization
or operation for that matter. as you said, resistance from non-techies
-- they don't know what they're resisting yet. as for the advocates to
do it in a more persuasive manner is another issue.

persuation shouldn't have anything to do with being an advocate. if all
you do is persuade, then that would be the work of an evangelist IMHO.
but there has to be an information drive, or an information campaign the
scale of the "NO SMOKING" campaign which makes smokers think of
quitting. if we want the non-techies to know about linux, we have to
bring it to them. their accepting it, is another issue.

i will not argue. :)

ok, i said ".. the best way to grasp technology ..." and "... to learn
to use your car better ..." -- i was speaking in the context and premise
that you want to use technology better. of course, if you didn't want
better performance from your gadget, you wouldn't bother knowing how it
works and how to use it properly. :)

same with my linux box. my sister, mother, father, and cousins know
nothing about linux, the processor, CPU, RAM, etc., but they have been
successfully using this desktop which has slackware linux 8.1 on it.
they just had to click on the K (in KDE) or the Foot (in Gnome) to get
the party started.

peace to you too. no agression meant, just for intellectual discussion
and stimulation. :)
