Can you be more specific? What DNS server are you using? DNS for Win2k
requires you to have a PTR record, unless the zone is configured for dynamic
update.

anyone, it seems to me that my box (client1) cant resolve dns querries.
/etc/resolv.conf is already set 
to our dns. in the dns box, ip and port are already open for the problematic
(client1) box. 

what do you think is the error.
