;) i presume you've added this line "ALL:ALL" to /etc/hosts.deny, and
your /etc/hosts.allow rules were skipped (that's why you were denied
access). ssh and samba will not work definitely because they are runned
by rc.sshd and rc.samba respectively in /etc/rc.d/. to make this work
you have to run both through inetd. add a line for ssh and samba in
/etc/inetd.conf and everything will be fine ;) as for ftpd there's
already a line there but it's for proftpd just edit it if you're not
using proftpd (but i suggest you use it).
