and Healthcare Coalition Institute invite paper submissions for the Pacific
Rim Healthcare Summit 2003. The 2003 conference theme is
�HIPAA; OFWs/OCWs; and, Chemical and Bioterorrism�.
We wish to solicit papers that will expand the scholarly discussion on this theme. Paper might consider one of the topics listed below or other topics that address the conference theme in an original or innovative way. CONFERENCE TITLE: Pacific Rim Healthcare

CONFERENCE DATES: 11/17/2003 -11/19/2003 (Monday through Wednesday) CONFERENCE FEES: To be announced. Continuing Medical Education credits are available for physicians and nurses. CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES: 1) Provide a multi-disciplinary and multi-jurisdictional platform for presenting and discussing HIPAA Workshops and Briefings; healthcare issues with OCWs/OFWs, expatriates; medical missions; telemedicine and other educational exchanges; etc. 2) Address healthcare and retirement issues affecting OCWs/OFWs, expatriates and their families. 3) Facilitate the development of retirement and healthcare facilities for local citizens, OCWs/OFWs, expatriates,and retirees from the United States and OECD countries. 4) Expand outreach to various medical/dental schools, healthcare professional organizations and specialties, hospitals, medical/dental clinics, pharmaceutical companies, nursing homes, hospices, DMEs, and other entities in the healthcare services delivery chain. 5) Harmonize healthcare performance standards with those of the United States and OECD countries. Authors must demonstrate intellectual independence and be unencumbered by
conflicts of interest. Proposed papers will also be judged on adherence to
overall conference objectives, originality of approach, compatibility and
suitability when balanced with other papers, and similar factors.
Abstracts of proposed papers, limited to two pages, should be submitted together
with information on each author including educational background, experience,
and previous publications, to the Project Director by April 28, 2003.
