distributed shared memory (DSM) is not what i am planning to achieve
here. it's really something more general -- a distributed virtual
machine. DSM is only one part of my problem and something that will be
supposedly transparent to the user/programmer. nonetheless, the
performance of the system will be a concern, and ways of improving or
even simplifying the implementation would be of prime concern.

im still looking for resources (or related literature) pertaining to
distributed system design, and parallel computing.
