hi all,

im trying to configure ytalk in my home pc but no luck. my distro is
linux mandrake 9. ang target ko kung maayos kona ang ytalk sa machine ko
ang pc naman ni mrs ang econfigure ko. its a long shot because im in
saudi right now while my wife is in iloilo. both pc's have mandrake 9
installed. uunahin ko muna ang sakin, tapos hingi ako ng tulong dito
kung posibleng ma-remote admin ko ang pc namin sa iloilo. i know irc is
better and faster but i like to try ytalk over ssh. my ytalk version is
V3.1.1.

]# ytalk jerimez

i get error: No talk daemon on localhost.localdomain
edited my /etc/xinetd.conf as follows:

defaults
{
        instances               = 60
        log_type                = SYSLOG authpriv
        log_on_success          = HOST PID
        log_on_failure          = HOST
        cps                     = 25 30
}

includedir /etc/xinetd.d

# added talk service
service talk
{
    socket_type         = dgram
    user                = jerimez dante john
    wait                = no
    server              =  /etc/alternatives/xinetd
    only_from           = 192.168.1.0/24 localhost
}

then i exec `/etc/rc.d/init.d/xinetd restart`. then rerun ytalk above
but same prob. can you guys help me out? baka kako mali server attribute
ko?

p.s: kindly cc to my address as i just unsubscribed from the list few
weeks back. im no sysadmin nor programmer just a newly convert Linux
user. TIA.
