What versions of the kernel, library, compiler, xfree, etc do you use. In my case, I try to use the latest stable versions. Here is my list:
linux-2.4.20 glibc-2.3.2 gcc-3.2.2 xfree86-4.3.0 I think these four were made to fit well together. In particular, ldconfig of glibc-2.3.2 now properly builds /etc/ld.so.cache, which failed to do so in glibc-2.3.1. Also gcc-3.2.2 is probably the world's best c/c++ compiler, doing a much better job than gcc-2.95.3, and being more standards-compliant. xfree86-4.3.0 now comes with megabytes of fonts -- many more than what were available in older version. Also freetype2 is now standard with xfree-4.3.0. So go and get these nice toys, and enjoy! P~Manalastas _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
