I'm pretty sure it isn't.  Paolo was asking about use of the BSD "slice"
partitioning scheme on Linux, but still using typical Linux filesystems
(such as ext2) within those slices.  

You may have been mislead by the term "BSD disklabel", which does _not_ 
mean what you refer to, above, but rather is a different implementation
of what Linux people think of as a disk's partition table.
