ok. i think you can try stracing your XF86Setup and see where the heck it seg faults. of course, unless you're not used to seeing streams and streams of system calls and stuff. the last instruction which causes the segfault usually tells you what happened wrong. man strace > I recently upgraded to Debian Woody.
