You can use Spamassassin to tag incoming mail and then move them to
another folder, or delete 'em. There's a filter option under Kmail that
let's you pipe the email to programs and will replace the email with
whatever's the output of the program. If you'll use Spamassasin with
that filter option, Spamassassin would return to Kmail the same email
with extra headers containing information like scores, wether the mail
is spam or not, etc. With the email now tagged, you can use other Kmail
filters to move or delete the email.
I suggest that you just move the email to another folder because there
would be some false positives. And from those false positives and false
negatives, you can improve the performance of Spamassassin by creating
rules based on those false postives/negatives, or if you're using
Spamassassin 2.5, classify which email is spam or not thru
Spamassassin's built-in Bayesian spam filter.
What sucks with this method is you still have to download the spam. :(
It sucks if you're using a dial-up or if you're paying by the
minute/bandwith used. :( If you don't want to download the spam, better
get another mail hosting server that would filter your email, like
Spamcop.
