well, its not over simplification. that's the idea, but the problem im trying to solve is persistence -- objects that you might want to reuse. sure, the output of one app piped to another is great. how about the reverse? and what if there are >1 apps that would like to access the data and be able to work with it on their own? what if i want to pick up from where one application left off? my initial use for this is for "sharing" config files, profiles, and documents by "wrapping" them in XML, and then transmit/retrieve them as either an XML document or raw data. if an application's output was a data object, then it could pass it to the server for persistence. another application (or other applications) could then get the data in XML form, and operate on it on their own. similarly, these applications would also be able to store their results in the server, and allow the first application to get that information and work on it. i hope this makes it a little more clear... > Mabuhay. > mabuhay din kapatid! =) -- -=[mikhail]=- aka Dean Michael C.
