Are they just losing their printers and not their other windows shares? Are your clients all win98 or are the flaky computers win2000 or XP. (there's an issue with these clients on a mixed environment with samba) However, if your previous setup worked for a month- i think you might have a problem with getting the latest (cutting-edge) packages using apt-get or whatver (rhnsd?) as you haven't tested these new packages. Where does your apt-get get it's packages ? Is it from RedHat? Just stick with "a" working version and not do any auto updates that you haven't tested.
