Contemplating on getting one of those Crusoe based computers
but I want to know if it performs as good as the Athlons or Pentium IVs.
Perhaps Sacha can tell us how her Lifebook's performing... ;-)

Subject: [plug] Cheapest Linux portable
The cheapest ECS Desknote PC has the Crusoe chip, 128 MB ram, 10GB
hard disk, LCD screen, AC plug, optional battery, and is available
from most computer shops for P27,950.00. You might even be able to
lower the price if you ask the vendor not to pre-install Windows.

If you ask me, this is a great buy for anyone who needs to lug a PC
from home to work and back, or who travels a lot but will not mind
connecting to the AC outlet when using the notebook PC.

I am not a salesman for ECS, but I feel that we have been snobbing the
Crusoe in favor of P4. Remember that Linus Torvalds helped design
the Crusoe chip exactly for this purpose (portables).
