in the IT security market, i compete head to head with CA - considering that i'm a founder of ISSSP and I-Sentry, i should exert effort to stop them from being the major company at the con - but i didn't. ISSSP like PLUG, it is an open organization, everyone's welcome - even AsianPride :-)  and other groups can join. CA is at the con for one reason, they want to promote security (also their products) and help ISSSP.

That may be true, but I doubt that MS,CA, etc. will be so kind as to look at
it that way......

I do not think we can expect to have MS developers showing up during the
convention to honestly try to break into a MS box, do you.... thus Microsoft
is generally united..... the same goes with other non-FS/OSS software
developers.....

So why must FS/OSS developers fight amongst themselves--- this will put them
in a bad position in this convention---- thus I recommend that we try to
gain/solicit as broad and as diverse a support as possible for PLUG ----- MS
USA is for MS Philippines, etc right?----- Therefore there is no reason why
International GNU/Linux, OSS, FS, etc. groups can not be for PLUG!!!

It is said that " A house divided against it's self can not stand"

If we (Linux users) are not careful here we may provide an avenue for a
divide and conquer attack strategy from anti-OSS/FS groups (e.g.. MS, etc.)

"This is not simply for fun. Believe me that's the last thing in the list
of priorities. This is serious business. There's a lot at stake here,
and primarily it's the reputation of Linux and PLUG expertise. So
volunteers better make it an obsession, and make it count."
