Yes, and I successfully downloaded RedHat 9.0 ISOs at the maximum speed
of my DSL link even if RedHat had only been released a few days before.

I never really used the GUI downloader, because I didn't see the need to
install wxPython just to download some ISOs. The curses-based one seemed
to work just fine, and I could run it using screen which would allow me
to log off, go home, and check on it from anywhere.

Make sure that you have a direct connection to the Internet from where
you're downloading, and that you have ports 6881 to 6889 open or
downloading will be dog slow.

Using the link from bitconjurer.org, the following command should work
just fine:

    $ btdownloadcurses.py --url http://207.44.142.96/redhat9.torrent

Or with my recommended screen:

    $ screen -S redhat9 btdownloadcurses.py --url http://207.44.142.96/redhat9.torrent

You can background a screen task using C-a-d, you can restore it later
using:

    $ screen -R redhat9

Happy screened torrenting. ;)
