no.
'apt-get update' isnt enough, you should also do 'apt-get upgrade' after :)
debian patches their stuff. if your samba is from the apt repository and you have the proper apt sources in your config and do regular updates then that version is already patched.
i run samba 2.2.3a but have recieved updates via apt-get twice regarding security exploits :)
