well, to be more clear with my motives, and so that more people may be able to help me with what i'm about to do, i'd rather put it here in the mailing list. :)

quite a while back for a project that did not push through. email me at
[EMAIL PROTECTED] of you are interested.

much as the offer is very much appreciated, my motives for running linux on sparcs is really for parallel computing/cluster computing. what i'm exactly trying to do is setup a 4 node beowulf cluster consisting of 4 ultrasprac 5's in UPLB, and at a later date a heterogenous beowulf cluster of IBM PC clones and SPARCs in the mix.

i've looked around the net, and i think i would just use Debian (ROCKS!! hehehe... ;) ) on the UltraSPARCs.

and besides, i would also be coming up with a Debian (ROCKS!! ;) ) based live CD distro for UP(LB). something like knoppix and knoppix with mosix in it, but my intention is to come up with a beowulf cluster where there would be a master and slaves. details if wanted are available upon request. ;)

however, it's not officially UP's distro (yet, because i haven't talked to the higer ups regarding funding and continuation of the project)-- although i would love to donate the distro when i'm done getting it up.

i've decided to call it Oblation Linux, and i would love to get in touch with people from UP regarding this effort. :)
