HOME ROUTERS/FW Review contributions: BELKIN ---------
bargain hunters check out BELKIN also...I have a linksys but bought belkin for a friend. I believe belkins are powered by Linux also (as with Linksys). Firewall/router features are ok, quite similar in features with the linksys firmware. Remote web admin supported, dhcp, vpn pass thru, DMZ feature, etc..the whole nine yards. Paid $30 (after rebate) for the belkin, and that was with the 802.11b. Friend says it was ok, no problems as far as he knows. I would get a 802.11g version if I catch it on sale at an insane price. PROS: good. all is good. CONS: antenna not detachable. NETGEAR ------- my friend has one. The problem with his router is that if outgoing connections are routed inward (if you have a host "outside", eg., if you redirect port 80 to a internal host for example), there's a problem connecting. Dont know the model number. jondz On Fri, 2003-07-04 at 22:27, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > I have this impression that SMC products are not > > anyway better than the say, Linksys or D-link > > Maybe this? > > >http://www.linksys.com/products/product.asp?grid=34&scid=29&prid=433 > > I don't know.
