hi marvin,
I've been having problems with a stock openmosix compile. i'm
not sure why, it's just vanilla+openmosix. there might be weirdness
since one of the openmosix boxes is a laptop with a pcmcia LAN
card.
anyway, i thought i'd take the mandrake kernel sources (2.4.21-03mdk)
and patch that with openmosix. there are conflicts. and the conflicts
are in places where there are ifdefs for GRKERNSEC. so i'd say
that openmosix conflicts with the grsecurity patches.
one conflict i saw (and i'm hoping it stands for the majority, i've
only looked at 2 so far) was easily fixed. the second, however, in
sys_i386.c, has a conflict where both GRKERNSEC and openmosix
try to set the return value of do_mmap2. and they don't get the
error the same way (or, at any rate, not by calling the same function).
so it looks like the GRKERNSEC and openmosix patches will have
to be cleaned up by the openmosix people themselves. i'm off to
join that mailing list now :).
