On a non-production machine whose data has been backed up and by an
established GNU/Linux user like yourself, it should be good enough to
play with. I personally wouldn't use it until there's more good news
from other people, though, and definitely not until perhaps the first or
second "real" release.

Not me... although I know Paolo Falcone has been playing with 2.5, maybe
he's tried 2.6.0-test as well.

A lot! I don't know where to get a complete list, but I know that even
just 2.5 had a lot of new goodies (and bugs) against 2.4.21.
