you can add a (perl) plugin check_sybase.sh in the contrib/ subdirectory to do that.
check out http://www.whirlycott.com/phil/dbdsybase/ on how to use a DBD::Sybase Perl module.
but it's much easier to install a sybase client (for linux) then create a wrapper script.
