No offense taken.  However, I've been reading SEVERAL linux references (User Manuals, references, man pages, tutorials) and NOTHING and NO ONE has told me any single solution to LOADING pppd at startup.  Believe me, GOOGLE is tired of my linux searches by now.

Someone told me that he didn't have to do that, because it was working already after installation.  DUH!  On my setup, (RH7.3) I have to login as root first, then run pppd, and THEN the gateway starts functioning, although with my current firewall, when I'm the ONLY ONE downloading something off the net, the RD light on the modem is always on, meaning the bandwidth is being maximized at an amazing 50kbps dial-up, but my D/L is coming in at 0.07kbps ONLY!  Here's my firewall, I hope someone can help me.  If not, then I was misled into thinking that PLUG is the best way for Filipino linux newbies to go for help.

I would like a clean and fast solution to these problems because I want to get rid of WinGate and W98 ASAP because of their instability, and it's eating a huge chunk out of my other responsibilities.

Thank you for your time.
