INFORMATION SECURITY ENGINEER
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Strong work ethic, responsibility and dedication are necessary. - Team player - Monitor and assess LAN & WAN security program compliance and performance - Responsible for evaluating any vulnerabilities and security of existing network solutions, including routers, switches, servers, LANs, WANs & VPNs. - Assess network vulnerabilities, penetration testing and securing systems from attack. - Research, test and recommend new information security technologies and methodologies. - May work with external audit firms to identify security related exposures. - Monitor vulnerability notices from vendors, security agencies and governmental resources. - Monitor, assess and report on Network Intrusion Detection Systems (NIDS), Host-based Intrusion Detection Systems(HIDS, firewall, router and network operating system (access points) logs.
Education and/or Experience: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Computer Skills: Technical proficiency in security-related hardware and software and ability to function on security matters.
