That depends on your framebuffer. If it is supported by v4l like flyvideo,
you have to make sure your kernel is compiled with v4l enabled. Then talk
to the hardware using ioctl. If you have pxc, the same thing except you
have to install pxc driver by Alessandro 1st. Once you can get the video
and can control the settings like brightness,contrast,hue and saturation,
the rest would be straightforward like what you said.
