Below is some information about Denver and Colorado in general: Denver is the financial center for an area of the United States that's about the size of Europe! Therefore, a lot of banks and other financial services that cater to this region are based here. Denver is the home of the Denver Internation Airport, which is the hub of all domestic flights in the USA. There are therefore many companies here that service the airport and airline industry. The Samsonite luggage company is based here. Present also are major facilities of Boeing, United Airlines, American Airlines... Denver and the university towns of Boulder and Colorado Springs are considered "Silicon Valley 2", with plenty of information technology companies based here or have research facilities here. JD Edwards is based in Denver, while Sun Microsystems maintains a sprawling facility in Boulder. There are also research facilities in other technoologies such as aerospace and biotechnology, such as the huge campus-like facilities of Lockheed Martin and Ratheon (which are 5 minutes from where I live). Denver is also the headquarters of many of the telcos here in the US, such as Qwest, Time Warner Telecom, ICG Communications... ...I'll tell you more as I learn more. ;) |
