I'm reading an interview with Sterling Ball, CEO of Ernie Ball, the link
of which I got from Slashdot, and your question is a timely way to
"advertise" this interview.

Ernie Ball is a manufacturing company which was raided by the BSA
without warning in 2000 for some unused but installed unlicensed
software. They paid US$100,000 in fines and vowed never to use Microsoft
software again. In 6 months they were running on systems powered by
RedHat GNU/Linux with OpenOffice.org and Mozilla, and have been happy
ever since. Sterling Ball answers a lot of issues like the transition
and TCO with a very practical manner I'm sure a lot of local executives
will understand.
