Many of you have seen or have worked with the AS400 machine and its OS400. The whole O.S. is primarily focused on business functions and has a powerful database. If we can mimic the capabilities of an AS400 machine into a linux distribution, results can be great. It may be possible to create a new shell which is like the OS400's (menu-based, easy for most-people, consistent). No need for an extensive list of GUI applications as long as the new software is easy to learn.
This way we do not have to brag about a new distro with a Red Hat logo in the startup, local buisinesses as well as the government can find good use for this, and it will be designed to run on the cheapest of all hardware (no gui). Sort of an specialized customization of the free Linux kernel without being bloated. We could even tap into clustering to really imitate the power of the AS400 machine, though this would be unnecessary for medium-sized business who cannot afford a mainframe.
