The find syntax is likewise:

find <directory> -name "<file_to_search>"

etc: to find soffice use

find / -name "soffice"

to find something that is in your current path
use the . notation to point and search to your
current directory..

etc: to find all php files in your current directory

find . -name "*.php"

btw.. you can directly invoke find in your shell
scripts..
