This is false. For information on the ClamAV virus database, check out
their website[1]. You'll notice that the current viruses.db database was
last updated on 2003-09-03, and viruses.db2 on 2003-09-14. With these,
ClamAV detects 9589 viruses.

However ClamAV relies on the community to detect new viruses, so bigger
anti-viruses houses like Kaspersky Labs or Network Associates will be
able to respond to new viruses much faster than ClamAV will. We hope, of
course, that the community support for ClamAV will grow large enough
that soon this difference will be minimal.

Free for commercial use? Or perhaps did you mean free for non-commercial
use?
