greetings peeps!!!

i was wondering if i could map (or share) the passwd file on my NIS server
to my NIS client..i ask this because when i log in on my box, when i open
a terminal, it says:

id: cannot find name for user ID 502
[I have no [EMAIL PROTECTED] mongkey]$

...i've tried adding this entry:

+mongkey::502::::
+::::::

..at my local passwd file, but it still does not recognize uid 502 to have
a username of mongkey (oh and uid 502 has a username of mongkey at the
passwd file of the NIS server).

i would appreciate anyone's two cents worth of idea

=)
